Buriti oil is a plant oil pressed from the fruit of the buriti palm, Mauritia flexuosa, which grows in the Amazon and other parts of South America. The oil has a deep orange-red color that comes from its high beta-carotene content.
Typology describes it as antioxidant, nourishing and lipid-replenishing. Those qualities make it popular in skincare for dry and dull skin. On ingredient labels it appears as Mauritia Flexuosa Fruit Oil. You will find it in our Buriti Oil Cleanser, where it is blended with safflower, apricot kernel, grapeseed and avocado oils. Buriti oil also appears in Nano Mask as one of its nourishing oils. Like most plant oils, it is best used as part of a full routine.
